More about our capabilities

At Earnhardt, the real work starts before a part ever sees a car. Our shop in Mooresville, North Carolina is a place where metal, noise, and long hours turn into parts you can trust. The people here grew up around racing, machining, or both, and it shows in the way each job is handled.

We cut, measure, and finish parts the same way racers expect them to be done — close tolerances, clean surfaces, and no guessing. Whether it’s a one-off idea or a run of production pieces, we build it the right way because that’s the only way the Earnhardt name goes on it.

What We Do

Machine Shop Capabilities

Our machining work is done in-house on modern 3-axis and 5-axis equipment. That means tight tolerances, consistent repeatability, and the ability to cut complex shapes without farming anything out. If a part needs to be right the first time, and every time, this is where it gets built.

Design & Engineering

Some projects start with a drawing. Others start as an idea. We handle both. Our engineering team works directly with race teams, manufacturers, and industrial partners to model, refine, and test parts before they ever hit the machine. It’s precise and practical engineering driven by people who’ve spent decades around real-world equipment and success.

Finishing & Processing

When a part comes off the mill, it’s only halfway there. We clean it up by hand, knock down edges, and prep the surface so it’s ready for real work. Deburring, coatings, and other finish steps are done with the same care as the machining itself, because the part has to survive heat, vibration, and long nights at the track.

Who We Build For

We work with professional race teams, performance manufacturers, and industrial partners who expect accuracy and durability. Most of them come to us because they want something better than “good enough”. They want work backed by real experience and a name that stands behind its results.

FAQs

Anything from single custom components to full-on production runs. If it needs tight tolerances, clean machining or engineering behind it, we can handle it.

Yes. While racing is in our DNA, we also machine and engineer parts for industrial, aerospace, medical, and performance manufacturing partners. The same standard applies to all of it.

Sure. Bring whatever you have: a sketch, a part you pulled off a car, or a basic model. We’ve taken plenty of half-formed ideas and turned them into parts that can actually be machined and used.

Depends on what you need. Some folks come to us for one-off pieces, others hand us the whole job. We’re set up to handle either.
